1) What is the location and hours of operations for your services ?

We offer in-home tutoring services for our clients, but are also able to accommodate a public place close to your home if you prefer to choose so ( for example, a community library)

Our admin hours are Mon- Fri from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., however are tutors are able to tutor 7 days a week, including weekends from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

2) Will I get locked into a contract ?

Our registration is ongoing, however, our tutoring terms are as follows:

Secondary Grades: ( 9 – 12)

September – January

February – June

July and/or August

Elementary Grades ( K -8)

September – June

July and/or August

We are on occasion able to provide as-needed services, however, this is at the discretion of The Tutoring Expert.

3) How do you determine the number of tutoring sessions?

We recommend that client review this with the tutor after the first session, as this is a decision best made by the client and the tutor once a baseline for the student’s need has been established. As a rule of thumb, for every one hour of classroom session it is recommended that the student spend two hours to ensure a complete understanding of the topic. We recommend that our students seek our services on a regular basis to see tangible results; however, this may vary, based on each individual student’s ability. Each session’s duration is a minimum of one hour.

4) What is your session cancellation policy?

Our tutor’s time is every bit as precious as our student’s. It is therefore mandated that in case cancellations our tutors be granted a 24 – hour cancellation notice. Every attempt should be made to contact the tutor on time to make them aware of the change. Failure to do so will result in an automatic charge for the scheduled time. On the same token, tutors have to inform the students of similar changes 24 hours prior to the decided time.

5) What areas do you tutor in ?

Our service extends throughout the GTA,  including but not limited to:  Hamilton, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown, Stoney Creek, St. Catherines, Stoney Creek, Georgetown, Milton, Acton, Brantford, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Toronto, Richmond hill, Maple, Vaughan, Thornhill, Woodbridge, Kleinburg, King City, Aurora, Newmarket, Markham, Pickering, Ajax, London, Barrie, Cambridge

6) What subjects do you provide tutoring for?

We have tutors for all Elementary and High School subjects as well as University courses.

7) What other services do you offer?

We offer other educational and academic services, such as Career counseling, University preparation and planning, course selection etc. We provide training for larger groups in a more professional environment for both children and adults.

8) How do I make payments?

We accept all major credit cards.  Please call our office to make a payment.

9) Can I pay the tutor directly?

Our tutors cannot accept payments directly.  Please call our office to make payments.

10) What is your policy if I cannot commit till the end of a specific term?

Part of our dedication towards your family is to ensure you have a committed professional assigned for your child till the end of their school term. If for any reason you withdraw from our services prior to term end, a processing fee of $85 will be charged to close out the account and re-assign the tutor with another family.

11) Who are your tutors?

We are extremely proud to be working with the Best Tutors and teachers in the industry.  While the majority of our staff are certified teachers, we do liaison with educational professionals who love to teach.

12) What happens if the tutor is not a good match for my child?

We firmly believe in the Tutor-Student compatibility and guarantee the match process. A bit fair of effort and time is spent in ensuring the best tutor is matched with your child the first time around. However, should the rapport be missing, please feel free to contact our office and we would be happy to match you with a different tutor.

13) Will I be charged if I have to cancel a session?.

We allow for one – make up session each month, in case of a 24 hour cancellation of a scheduled session.

Further sessions may be cancelled, however, will be billed for the scheduled duration..
